LifeSpire of Virginia’s leadership team is pleased to announce that on July 21 it has signed an agreement with Centra Health to assume ownership of The Summit, a life plan community in Lynchburg. Centra’s decision to sell The Summit created an opportunity for LifeSpire of Virginia—formerly Virginia Baptist Homes—to broaden its presence, expand its mission and serve a new market.
LifeSpire of Virginia will own and manage The Summit’s independent living and assisted living neighborhoods as well as approximately 75 acres of undeveloped land. The Summit’s nursing home is being acquired by Cascade Capital and will be operated by Hill Valley Healthcare. LifeSpire of Virginia and Hill Valley Healthcare have entered into a Cooperation Agreement that provides guaranteed access to skilled nursing care for residents of The Summit.
Centra will continue to own and operate The Summit until closing, which is expected to occur in the fall of 2021.
