LYNCHBURG, VA, June 4, 2026 — LifeSpire of Virginia’s Board of Trustees has approved the addition of two
new hybrid home buildings at The Summit, bringing the total number of hybrid buildings on its Lynchburg
campus to four. This next phase adds 22 residences and builds on the success of the first two hybrid
buildings, which are currently under construction and fully presold. The newly approved buildings broke
ground in early May, are now under construction, and are also fully reserved, reflecting exceptional demand
for this living option.
The expansion enhances housing options on The Summit’s campus and aligns with continued demand
for modern, flexible living options for older adults. Hybrid homes combine the privacy and space of a
standalone cottage with the convenience of apartment living and proximity to amenities, dining, and higher
levels of care as needed.
Construction also continues on Blue Ridge Commons, a 30,000-square-foot holistic wellness center, as well
as a new memory support neighborhood.
“These new hybrid homes continue the momentum of our campus growth and reflect what our future
residents are asking for,” said Executive Director Kristi Martin. “We are excited to expand choice, wellness
access, and care capabilities here in Lynchburg.”
Hybrid residences will include spacious layouts, natural light, outdoor patios, garages, and designated
storage. Architectural coordination for The Summit’s expansion is being led by SFCS Architects, an
architecture and design firm with deep expertise in senior living environments.
