Clubs, Classes, and Trips

Our robust calendar of programs and activities is packed with a variety of club gatherings, cultural programs, and volunteer opportunities on and off campus to keep you engaged and inspired. Take a class in our beautiful creative arts studio, explore your passion for carpentry in our fully equipped woodshop, or expand your knowledge through our lifelong learning programs. Enjoy live onsite concerts, fun movie screenings, lively game nights, and weekly card games. You’ll love our regularly scheduled outings to museums, the theater, historical sites, and other wonderful destinations. Lakewood offers beautifully designed indoor and outdoor spaces that are perfect for relaxation and connecting with others. Stroll with friends along our lovely walking paths paved with a high-tech synthetic surface that drains easily and lessens stress on joints. Unwind in one of our multiple gathering places with comfortable seating and fireplaces. Our lovely dining terrace is the perfect spot to gather with friends and enjoy the outdoors.

Visual Arts

Our Creative Arts Studio hosts a variety of classes in the visual arts for all skill levels. We offer classes in painting and new classes are continually added to the calendar. Lakewood has quite a few accomplished artists and many others who simply enjoy expressing themselves through the creative outlets of visual art. Some residents showcase their art and photography in our on-campus gallery.

Performing Arts

We offer an ongoing variety of musical performances for residents to enjoy. Whether it’s a performance by the Lakewood Singers, Lakewood Players, or Lakewood Ringers, or an informal concert or sing-along with some of the many talented residents, there’s something for everyone and every musical taste.

Woodshop

Our well-equipped woodworking shop features workbenches with table saws, a drill press, circular and scroll saws, sanders, and jointers. There’s a spirit of sharing and teaching among the woodworkers of all levels who enjoy building their creations, as well as donating them to charitable causes.
