Jim Lewis, The Chesapeake
Jim, originally from Chesterfield County, VA, met his wife, Jackie, at Meadowbrook High School, and they have been inseparable since. They dated for eight years and married the day before Jim graduated from UVA, making them true high school sweethearts.
Jim’s career path took several turns. Initially aspiring to be an engineer, he switched to mathematics with the intention of teaching high school. However, the Vietnam War altered his plans, leading him to a 21-year career in the military. After retiring, Jim pursued an accounting degree at CNU, leveraging his mathematics background.
Jim’s disciplined upbringing, influenced by his parents and church mentors, has been a cornerstone of his life. Today, he maintains this discipline with the support of his wife and his commitment to his faith, having read the Bible 35 times and actively participating in church ministries.
In 2019, Jim and Jackie moved to their LifeSpire community, seeking security and supportive environment for Jackie. Jim has been an active volunteer since 2016, visiting residents in healthcare, sharing scripture, and assisting with various programs. He also serves on the Resident Council and Resident Advisory Committee.
Jim is most proud of his relationship with Jackie, considering it a blessing from God. His dedication to his community and faith exemplifies the core values of LifeSpire, making him a deserving recipient of the Influencer Award.
