Why are we changing our name?
In keeping with our long-standing commitment to innovation and excellence, we’re getting ready to introduce some exciting changes in the coming years — changes that include a new and innovative wellness program, additional dining spaces designed to make each meal an experience to be savored and even more ways to build on the deep sense of community that defines LifeSpire as a whole. As we started making plans to bring each of these to fruition, our executive team recognized that while our organization has continued to grow and evolve throughout the 70-plus years of our tenure, our name (Virginia Baptist Homes) has remained virtually unchanged. And so a decision was made to investigate whether our name still reflected who we are and what we have to offer.
Following months of research that included in-depth market analysis, multiple surveys, focus groups with both current and future residents, and detailed input from board and executive team members, it was clear that while our name said a lot about where we started, it did not meaningfully reflect how far we have come. And the fact is, names matter. More than simple nomenclature, names convey important information about who we are, what we stand for and what we value.
So . . . who are we?
We are proud stewards of four beautiful communities built on a foundation of faith-based service.
We are inspired each day to create new and innovative opportunities for living with joyful abundance.
We are humbled to serve the extraordinary people who call our communities home, and so we aspire to excellence in every aspect of retirement living.
We are . . . LifeSpire.
LifeSpire reflects the fullness of who we are today and all that we aspire to be in the future. It tells the world that we are a welcoming, inclusive family of communities, based in faith and committed to excellence in all aspects of retirement living.
